College Conference 2009: What a Success!

Fishers, IN – January 15, 2010

OCF's College Conference 2009 at the Antiochian Village was hugely successful with over 200 students and 25 clergy, staff and speakers.

This year's theme was "Building Community" and OCF was honored to have His Beatitude, Metropolitan Jonah deliver the keynote addresses.  "OCF is the most important ministry in the Church today!" stated His Beatitude. Comments from students included "a remarkable experience," "spoken from the heart," and "relates to our age group really well."  In addition, Fr. Thomas Hopko delivered the first keynote address.

Workshop speakers included: Fr. Steylios Maksuris, Dn. Nicholas Belcher, Fr. Moses Berry, Mother Alexandra, Nick Lionas, Nick Papas, Dr. Fred Arzola, and Kathryn Saclarides. OCF was also honored to have Fr. Martin Kraus as the conference Chaplain.

Other highlights of College Conference 2009 included writing letters to prisoners via Orthodox Christian Prison Ministry, a Karaoke Night, Black Light Dance, Ice Skating, as well as reuniting with old friends and making new ones.

OCF would like to thank all of the attendees and volunteers for an outstanding conference! Check out OCF's Podcast for some of the College Conference sessions.

Additionally, OCF would like to express its gratitude to The Order of St. Ignatius, the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese, the Orthodox Church in America, and the Serbian Orthodox Church in America for their generosity in providing scholarships.
