OCF Opens Search For The Student Advisory Board (SAB) Advisor and Announces Katerina Rallis as the Newly Elected 2012-2013 SAB Chairperson


Brookline, MA - May 16, 2012 - The Orthodox Christian Fellowship (OCF) announced today that applications are being accepted for the position of Student Advisory Board (SAB) Advisor. This volunteer position is for a motivated person interested in serving the Orthodox Church as a coach, mentor, and facilitator of the determined and passionate group of college students who serve on OCF’s Student Advisory Board.

Natalie Kapeluck-Nixon, OCF’s current SAB Advisor, shared her thoughts on her years working with college students: “Being given the opportunity to work with college students has been one of the greatest blessings of   my ministry to the Church, as they more often than not have advised me more than I have advised them. The SAB Advisor has a vital responsibility in enabling OCF to continue its ever growing and critical ministry to college students.  If you have the desire to guide intelligent, enthusiastic, and creative young adults in their efforts to connect their college peers to Orthodoxy, then apply to serve as the SAB Advisor.”

The letter should contain the applicant’s educational, ministerial, and other work history; any relevant general and campus ministry experiences; their vision for Orthodox campus ministry and what motivates them to seek the position. OCF is delighted to also announce that Katerina Rallis is the 2012-2013 SAB Chairperson.  Katerina attends Elmhurst College in Illinois and is studying to be an elementary education teacher. A College Conference veteran, Katerina has attended College Conference East for the last 3 years and served the SAB as the Great Lakes Regional Representative.  She brings an interesting perceptive to her leadership role and recently said, "The National Office that has helped me create connections throughout the country with other Orthodox Christians who share the same faith and lifestyle as myself. Just to know that there are so many other Orthodox Christian College students makes the world seem just a little smaller, in a good way!" 

Katerina is succeeding Zena Debs, 2011-2012 Student Chairperson.  Zena has just graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Public Relations.  She has been instrumental in promoting growth in programming, initiating change within the SAB structure, and updating the OCF Chapter Guidebook.
