CHICAGO, IL [OCA Dept. of Youth, Young Adult, and Campus Ministry] -- A
three-day workshop titled "New Media in Orthodox Student Ministry" will
be hosted by the Orthodox Church in America's Department of Youth,
Young Adults and Campus Ministry in Chicago August 4-7, 2009.
The workshop will bring together students responsible for the Orthodox
Christian Fellowship's podcasts and professionals in the fields of
youth and ministry to identify effective ways to harness new media in
student ministry.
Workshop speakers and facilitators include Mr. John Maddux of Ancient
Faith Radio; Mr. Steve Edwards, Executive Program Director of National
Public Radio’s Chicago affiliate WBEZ and member of Chicago’s Holy
Trinity Cathedral; and Protodeacon Joseph Matusiak of the OCA Youth
Department. Discussions will seek to develop the format and theme of
the OCF podcast.
"In
bringing together students and professional youth and radio workers, we
hope to be challenged to think deeply about what will make a good
student-oriented production," said Mr. Jonathan Bush, OCF podcast
coordinator.
