Over spring semester, OCF will be offering two dynamic Orthodox speakers to the Oberlin community. The first one is Father Daniel Byantoro, a ROCOR (Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia) Indonesian Orthodox Priest. His website is: http://friendsofindonesia.org/
Our second speaker is Frederica Mathewes-Green. Frederica Mathewes-Green is a wide-ranging author, whose work has appeared in such diverse publications as the Washington Post, Christianity Today, Smithsonian, the Los Angeles Times, First Things, Books & Culture, Sojourners, Touchstone, and the Wall Street Journal. She writes regularly for the multifaith web magazine Beliefnet.com, and writes movie reviews for National Review Online and Christianity Today Movies. Her website is: http://www.frederica.com/
Father Dan will be in the Lorain/Oberlin area the weekend of February 19/20. At noon on Saturday, the 19th, Father Dan will present a luncheon workshop entitled: "My Spiritual Odyssey from Muslim to Orthodox Christian." This will be at Sts. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, 2238 East 32nd Street, in Lorain, OH. Khouria Frederica will present a lecture on the Jesus Prayer on Saturday, March 5 at 2pm in the Oberlin College Science Center (119 Woodland Street), West Lecture Hall.
