Prayers For Students

We pray that the Lord our God will show favor to these students, and will inspire their hearts, their minds, and their lips with the spirit of wisdom, of understanding, of holiness and fear;  that He will enlighten these students with the light of His knowledge, and will give them strength and perseverance, so that they may eagerly learn His divine law; that He will enable them to grow in wisdom, understanding and virtue, for the glory of His Holy Name, and will give  them health and long life for the building up of His Holy Church, we beg Thee, O Lord, hear us and have mercy.

Open the hearts, the minds, and the lips of these students, that they may receive the power  of Thy law, and successfully comprehend the useful things which will be taught them, and so they will understand Thy perfect will and contribute to the building up of Thy Holy Church. Deliver them from ever snare of the enemy, preserve them in the true faith in righteousness and purity all the days of their lives, that they may grow in wisdom and in the observance of Thy commandments... Bless also the teachers, O Lord; grant that their words may be free from every worldly deceit and vanity, and may clearly proclaim the word of Thy Truth.

A Prayer For Orthodox Christian Fellowship Meetings

In the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit! Amen!

O God, our God! You have adorned us with Your image and you given us a free will to choose your paths. You taught all the people, calling upon them saying, “Come to me, children, and I will teach you the fear of the Lord.”

Look down even now, O Maker and Creator, upon our gathering, and grant us wisdom and understanding that we may learn Your holy will; warm our hearts in love for You and for the students whom we serve; guide us in the way of truth and righteousness, keeping our hearts from all evil; and unite us in one mind and in one heart.

You know our needs, and grant and fulfill our requests even before we make them. For You are our God, powerful in mercy and gracious in strength, and to You are due all glory, honor and adoration: to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.
