What's Your Vocation?

God's Billboard

Vocation   Why vocation? In our country today, we face a crisis of vocation.  Fewer and fewer people know why they live and work in this world.  They struggle with the purpose and meaning of daily existence.  For individuals, this can lead to great anxiety, frustration and depression.  For a community, it can lead to total disintegration.

Yet Orthodox Christians understand the concept of vocation to be our unique, ongoing response to Christ’s call to us to love God with heart, soul, mind, and strength, and our neighbor as ourselves.  Understanding our personal vocation and the vocation of our community has incredible transformative power.  And college is the prime time to reflect on vocation—to reflect on who God created you to be, and therefore what you should do with your life.  This reflection, in fact, may just change your life.

We encourage you to use the vocation information and resources provided here to learn more.  Your OCF group can apply for a Vocation Grant to reflect on and explore your vocations as Christians.
