Archimandrite John Abdalah was ordained in the Antiochian Archdiocese in 1978. A graduate of St. Vladimir's Seminary, he is a clinical member of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors, has a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Care from Pittsburgh Theological School, and a Certificate in Pastoral Counseling from Pittsburgh Pastoral Institute.
Fr. John is a founder of the Orthodox Pastoral Counseling Institute in Pittsburgh and has lectured in the graduate program for the St. John of Damascus Institute of Theology in Lebanon. He also leads the priestly formation classes and the Seminarian and Pastoral Counseling tracks of the Antiochian House of Studies. He is the Dean of St. George Cathedral in Pittsburgh and of the Western Pennsylvania Deanery. He has worked with OCF since 1984.
He is a widower and the father of three; Gregory, Joseph and Maria.
