About The Student Advisory Board

Mission Statement: The mission of the Orthodox Christian Fellowship (OCF) is to support fellowships on college campuses, whose members experience and witness to the Orthodox Christian Church through community life, prayer, service to others, and study of the Faith (Acts 2:42).

 

The Student Advisory Board of OCF focuses on the big picture, inspiring a strong student movement, outlining visions and priorities, and assisting the North American Office in developing the future of OCF. The position is challenging, exciting, and answers one's call to serve the Church and others, furthering Orthodoxy and keeping students connected to the life-giving Church. Christ said: Who ever desires to become great among you shall be your servant.  


In order to promote the exponential growth of OCF, the objectives of the Student Advisory Board focus on the following ideas:

1) Improving organizational accountability
2) Providing transformational programming
3) Improving organizational communication
4) Strengthening local chapter leadership
5) Improving organizational finances


   The members of the Student Advisory Board (SAB) ,are
  active servant-leader to their peers, the North American Office,
  and the Church itself.   The Student Advisory board is tasked with
  assisting the National OCF Office in coordinating the various OCF
  programs and serving as a liason to the local OCF chapters.  

 
  Orthodox Christian College Students who demonstrate a deep
  committment to the Orthodox Faith and possess strong
  leadership, organizational and communication skills are invited to 
  apply to serve on the SAB.  

 
  Members of the Student Advisory Board may  select to serve the
 OCF and the Church in the following capacities:  

 


College Conference Coordinators

Planning for the upcoming College Conference begins in April of each year and continues through the conference which is  held at the end of December.

Service Learning Coordinator

The Service Learning Coordinator assists the OCF Service Learning Director in the growth and development of OCF's service learning programs, particularly the Pilgrimage for Justice and Just Love.


Real Break Coordinator

Real Break planning begins in the fall of each year and continues through the spring when the trips run from mid-February to the end of March. 


Witness Magazine Editor

Witness is a quarterly publication which goes out to college students, parents, donors, and parishes.  


Headliner Editor

The Headliner is a monthly online newsletter.

 

Website Coordinator

The new website www.ocf.net is a key component to the success and growth of OCF and its programs. Applicants with website design or programming experience are preferred.                                                       

 

Podcasts Coordinator

In conjunction with Ancient Faith Radio, OCF has the privilege of now broadcasting podcasts on a regular basis. Applicants with appropriate recording and editing experience are preferred.

Regional Representative

An essential role in the OCF structure is its communication with its individual chapters.  The SAB Regional Representatives aid in this communication by maintaining a strong connection with the OCF Chapters in their assigned region.
