Mission Statement: The mission of the Orthodox Christian Fellowship (OCF) is to support fellowships on college campuses, whose members experience and witness the Orthodox Christian Church through community life, prayer, service to others, and study of the Faith (Acts 2:42).

The Student Advisory Board of OCF focuses on the big picture, inspiring a strong student movement, outlining visions and priorities, and assisting the North American Office in developing the future of OCF. The position is challenging, exciting, and answers one’s call to serve the Church and others, furthering Orthodoxy and keeping students connected to the life-giving Church.   The members of the A Regional Student Advisory Board (SAB) ,are Leader must be an active servant-leader to their peers, the North American Office, and the Church itself.   The Student Advisory board is tasked with
assisting the National OCF Office in coordinating the various OCF
programs and serving as a liason to the local OCF chapters.

Orthodox Christian College Students who demonstrate a deep
committment to the Orthodox Faith and possess strong
leadership, organizational and communication skills are invited to

College Conference Coordinators

Planning for the upcoming College Conference begins in April of each year and continues through the conference which is held at the end of December.

Service Learning Coordinator

The Service Learning Coordinator assists the OCF Service Learning Director in the growth and development of OCF's service learning programs, particularly the Pilgrimage for Justice and Just Love.

Real Break Coordinator

Real Break planning begins in the fall of each year and continues through the spring when the trips run from mid-February to the end of March.

Witness Magazine Editor

Witness is a quarterly publication which goes out to college students, parents, donors, positions and parishes.

Headliner Editor

The Headliner is a monthly apply online newsletter.

Website Coordinator

The new website www.ocf.net is a key component to the success and growth of OCF and its programs. Applicants with website design or programming experience are preferred.

Podcasts Coordinator

In conjunction with Ancient Faith Radio, OCF has the privilege of now broadcasting podcasts on a regular basis. Applicants with appropriate recording and editing experience are preferred.

Regional Representative

An essential role in the OCF structure is its communication with its individual chapters. The SAB Regional Representatives aid in this communication by maintaining a strong connection with the OCF Chapters in their assigned region.

  There are presently two categories of service on the Student Advisory Board:

     1. Program Coordinators.
     2. Regional Representatives.

  Program Coordinators are tasked with assisting the North American OCF office
with coordinating the various National OCF Programs held during the course of the
  Academic Year. They are expected to fulfill the following ongoing responsibilities:

Communicate clearly, efficiently, and in a timely manner information to and from the Program Coordinator Chair, the Regional Representatives, your committee(s) (if applicable), and the North American Office.

Promote

OCF programs is looking for our 2013-2014 Student Leaders to local OCF leaders, individual students, parents, parishes, etc.

Be aware of website updates and monitor or moderate activity when necessary.

Be the voice and face of OCF (be professional, ethical, and knowledgeable).

Regional representativesserve as liaisons between the North American OCF office and the OCF chapters and their parishes in their assigned region. They are expected to fulfill the following ongoing responsibilities:

Connect students to local chapters and parishes.

Working with Regional Representatives to ensure that OCF Praxis programs are promoted throughout the different regions of North America.

Assisting the Real Break Advisor and Program Coordinator in preparing registration, booking insurances, making reservations etc.

Providing helpful input to the OCF Program Director in shaping the Real Break program.

Witness/Headliner Magazine Editor

Witness is a bi-annual publication which goes out to college students, parents, donors, and parishes. The editor of this publication will be held accountable for:

Gathering articles, press releases, etc. for publication.

Setting deadlines for submissions.

Contacting the Regional Representatives and other Program Coordinators for upcoming events.

Layout each issue of the magazine.

Proofread and edit each issue before it is published.

Headliner is a monthly online newsletter. The editor of this publication will be held accountable for:

Coordinating and conducting committee meetings / conference calls.

Delegating planning responsibilities among the committee members.

Aiding and advising committee members in their roles.

Communicating on a regular basis with the College Conference Advisor and the North American Office.

Working with Regional Representatives to ensure that OCF Praxis programs are promoted throughout the different regions of North America.

Website Coordinator

The new website www.ocf.net is a key component to the success and growth of OCF and its programs. Applicants with website design or programming experience are preferred. The Website Coordinator will be held accountable for:

Keeping the website up to date with the latest information and news available.

Making sure the website runs efficiently and smoothly.

Being available to answer questions from the North American Office and ocf.net users.

Ensuring that the correct people have privileges to edit website contents.

Coordinating with the other Program Coordinators to post information about programs.

Podcasts Coordinator

In conjunction with Ancient Faith Radio, OCF has the privilege of now broadcasting podcasts on a regular basis. Applicants with appropriate recording and editing experience are preferred. The Podcasts Coordinator will be held accountable for:

Overseeing a planning committee through email and conference calls.

Coming up with new ideas for podcasts.

Contacting Regional Representatives for retreat information to record speakers.

Communicating with the other members of the SAB and the North American Office for information and news that should be broadcast in a podcast.

Recording, editing, and posting podcasts on a regular basis.

Regional Representative

An essential role in the OCF structure is its communication with its individual chapters. The SAB Regional Representatives aid in this communication by maintaining a strong connection with the OCF Chapters in their assigned region.

Contact Information - collection of most current contact information for each chapter in your region beginning on or before August 1.

Regional Fall Event - facilitation of a regional event sponsored by a chapter within the region.

College Student Sunday - facilitation of and participation in College Student Sunday, which takes place the Sunday following the Elevation of the Cross.

Promotion and advertisement of National OCF Programs - Real Break - College Conference - Day of Prayer and additional events.

Regional Spring Event - facilitation of a regional event sponsored by a chapter within the region.

Transition - train successor and pass along pertinent information for a smooth transition in May.

Mid-Atlantic: West Virginia, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Maryland, Delaware

Hi! I'm Tim Markatos, the OCF Student Advisory Board's podcaster. Though I hail from Massachusetts originally, I'm a sophomore at Georgetown University in DC where I am majoring in classics. This year's docket of OCF podcasts will be chock-full of great monthly episodes covering a variety of spiritual and topical issues. Howdy, everyone! I am Julia Timby, your Mountain Regional Representative. I am a junior at Texas A&M University where I am majoring in Political Science. Also, I am currently enrolled in ROTC and will, upon graduation, serve as an Officer in the U.S. Army. I have been involved in OCF since my arrival at college and have shared many wonderful experiences with fellow students both at A&M and many other schools around the nation. This has allowed me to grow spiritually closer to Christ by helping me not only stay involved in the Church but also to learn many new things as I begin my adult life. OCF has also helped me stay in touch with many old friends while making many wonderful new ones. I would like to see that everyone has the opportunities I have been blessed with.

Hey guys, my name is John Meese and I'm your brand new regional representative for the Southeast region. I am a Senior at Middle Tennessee State University, double majoring in Spanish and Economics with a minor in Mathematics. I've been involved with my local OCF chapter since my sophomore year at MTSU when we started it up anew, and enjoyed every OCF event I've been to since! I'm cradle Orthodox from a convert family, and I go to an Antiochian parish in Murfreesboro, TN where I go to school. I'm looking forward to working with all the chapters in our region this year.

I'm Anthony Jonas, the Real Break Coordinator. I am not sarcastic at all and joking around is never okay. Aladdin plays on replay in my household. As an Illinois native, I went to the University of Illinois-Chicago for my first year of college, but I am now a sophomore at Hellenic College. I am studying Human Development in the hopes of being more than a street rat and becoming a child psychologist. In my free time, I volunteer at my home parish of Saints Constantine and Helen of Palos Hills, IL. I teach 3^rd grade Sunday School and coach J.O.Y. Soccer. I enjoy taking long magic carpet rides over the Parthenon. In all seriousness, I'm excited to experience this whole new world of SAB!

Greetings, I am James Maccone. I was born in Brooklyn, New York and I currently reside in southern Connecticut. I attend the University of Connecticut majoring in Biological Science, where I am a member of my local OCF Chapter in addition to the Hellenic Society, Paideia, the Pre-medicine Society, and Gymnastics Club. Over the summer I counsel at Saint Barbara's Summer Camp and Camp Saint Paul, and I work as a lifeguard at the YMCA. I enjoy just about all sports from swimming to racing. I am excited for this upcoming year in OCF and look forward to coordinating fun and educational, regional retreats.

Hi everyone! I'm Katerina Rallis and this year I am serving as the Chair of SAB. This is my second year on the student advisory board and I have some big plans for the board; a board that also has big plans for the year! I am from Chicago and am starting my final year at Elmhurst College majoring in elementary education and studying minors in reading and theatre. One of my favorite things to do is Greek dance and I also teach Greek dance at a local Greek School and a private troupe. I am thoroughly excited to begin teaching in the future and am already volunteering in various low income schools helping students with reading. I have been to Guatemala several times and hold a special place in my heart for the children there. I hope and pray that together with the Student Advisory Board, The National Office, and the chapters of North America we can all work together to serve one another and create a spiritually renewing and enriching OCF. My name is Julia Barabas and I am a senior at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in California. I study English, Religious Studies, and Teaching English as a Second Language. I have a deep love of reading anything and everything. My favorite book is The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky. I also have a passion for children and teens. I have been working at Camp St. Nicholas in Frazier Park for the past three years, most recently as the Morning Program Director. I am continually astounded by the love and insight that young people are able to bring forth. It is inspiring. One of my most beloved hobbies is circusry. I am able to walk on stilts and am learning how to juggle. Next on the agenda is tight-rope walking!
