• Real Break Alaska 2019
    March 23, 2019 - March 30, 2019
    6:00 am - 7:00 am

Trip Mission  The Real Break Alaska team will “meet the American saints” on an overnight pilgrimage to Kodiak Island, where St. Herman of Alaska lived and preached, as well as in Kwethluk, the home of Matushka Olga. In addition, participants will explore the greater Anchorage area serving at the St. Innocent Wellness Resource Center, visiting local parishes, and experiencing Alaskan culture and life.

The group’s home base will be the St. John Orthodox Cathedral – a parish community located on fifty-five acres and situated at the base of the Chugach Mountains, twelve miles outside of Anchorage; Alaska’s largest city. The facilities of the Cathedral include an elementary school, a guest-home, and a chapel, which is dedicated to St. Sergius of Radonezh. The Cathedral also hosts the annual Eagle River Institute of Orthodox Christian Studies and the St. John Summer Camp for teens. Next to the Cathedral is the St. James House, which offers a one-year residential program for young singles.
