Trip Dates – March 5-9, 2018

Trip Mission  To experience, through various ministries and nonprofit organizations,  the reality of poverty and segregation in the city of Pittsburgh.  This trip will also offer invaluable opportunities  for service-learning and intentional service leadership development.

FOCUS North America is a national movement of Orthodox Christians, united in faith and joined by a desire to provide action-oriented and sustainable solutions to poverty in communities across America. FOCUS has operations and youth volunteer experiences in more than 50 cities in the United States.

Real Break Pittsburgh will be facilitated by Katrina Bitar, FOCUS’ YES Program Director. YES (Youth Equipped to Serve) provides opportunities for students to participate in formative service experiences that aim to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor and bring participants to an awareness of Christ in themselves and others. Through the YES trips, we aim to identify and cultivate leadership gifts in trip participants, with the ultimate purpose being to raise up service leaders who will lead others in loving and serving our most needy neighbors in their own parishes and communities. For more information about FOCUS Pittsburgh visit: focusnorthamerica.org/centers/pittsburgh/
